My friend SS challenged me to make a pie that was mostly cinnamon flavored and was sort of crunchy. Not quite custard-y, and not quite like pecan pie. Well, here’s what I came up with. It all went pretty well, except the graham cracker layer rose to the top and separated from the custard instead of staying mixed in. Not a huge deal though; it was still tasty. =)

I used cinnamon graham crackers instead of regular. I used 2 tsp of cinnamon instead of 1. Also, I gently crushed up some more cinnamon graham crackers on the top for even more crunch.

Despite the separation (see below), it still tasted great. 4 stars out of 5.

Sorry this is so late, but I’ve been stuck in training with no internet for the past couple weeks. These bars were a big hit. The bottom crust bakes like a granola bar while the topping feels like a cobbler. It’s an interesting texture, but very good.

Well, obviously, I used raspberries instead of blueberries. I also used more berries than the recipe called for. For the preserves, I chose a Fruit of the Forest blend from Aldi (Fit and Active brand).

4-4.5 stars out of 5. I would give this 4.25 if I could. Most people loved them, but I wasn’t that impressed.

I got this recipe from a coworker and finally tried it out.
German Apple Cake

Recipe
I don’t feel like typing the whole thing, but the gist of it is that you make a cake-like crust and press it into a sprinform pan, reserving some crumbs for the streusel. Mix about 6 cups sliced apples with some cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar; and arrange in the pan. Bake for a little bit, then add the streusel and continue baking.
Modifications
I didn’t add a vanilla/egg/rum topping that was optional.

3.5 stars out of 5. Nothing super special.

As far as gooey butter cakes go, this is only 3.5 stars out of 5, but as far as some of my other desserts go, this is a 4 out of 5.
